The New Black AI now shows and sets the sales channels of each Shopify product

Published 19 September 2026

A product that is not on a channel cannot sell there, and Shopify hides that fact three clicks deep. The New Black AI now shows, for each product of your store, on how many sales channels it is sold, and lets you change it from the same place.

What the Store page shows

Next to each product, a number: the sales channels it is published on. Click it to see them, and to put the product on Online Store, Shop, Instagram, Google and the others, or to take it off. The change is written to Shopify.

How it works

1. Open the Store page, Products tab. 2. Read the number next to a product: 1 means the online store only, 4 means it is also on Shop, Instagram and Google. 3. Click it and tick the channels. Done.

Why it matters for a merchant

Products added in a hurry end up on the online store and nowhere else, and a collection that should be tagged on Instagram is not. Seeing the count for the whole catalogue in one column makes the gap obvious; fixing it is a click per product rather than a trip through each product page.

It pairs with the performance score and the sales and traffic tile of the same product, on the Store page.
