ChatGPT traffic to your Shopify store: The New Black AI

ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot and Claude now send shoppers to stores: someone asks for a linen dress or a brand like yours, and the answer carries a link. Those visits hide inside "referral" in most reports. In The New Black AI, the Store's Traffic view gives them their own card: how many visits each assistant sent, and the pages of your store they landed on.
What the Traffic view shows
- Who visits: new visitors, engaged visits, time and pages per visit.
- Where they come from: sources, devices, countries and social networks.
- AI search: the visits sent by ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot and Claude, and the landing page of each.
- A country filter beside the dates: pick one country or several and the whole Store follows, sales by shipping country included.
How it works
1. Connect Google Analytics in Connectors, with the account that owns your store's property. 2. Open Store › Traffic. The AI search card reads the same sessions as the rest of the view, grouped by assistant. 3. Compare periods with the date switch, and filter by country.
Why it matters
A page an assistant keeps sending people to is a page it trusts: it is the one to keep accurate and complete. A page it never sends anyone to, on a subject you sell, is the one to write. The answer to both is on the same screen as your sales, and Store › Content writes or rewrites the page.
