AI Fashion: how The New Black AI protects your designs and your account

Published 18 September 2026

A designer uploading a collection before it is shown wants one answer before anything else: who sees this? The New Black AI now answers on a dedicated Security page, and the answer is short.

Private, and never training material

Everything you upload and everything you generate is private to your account. It is never shown to other users, never published anywhere without an action of yours, and never used to train or fine-tune any model, on any plan. You keep full ownership of what you create; the terms of service say so.

Our team can open a creation of yours only to answer a support request you made, and only for that. There is no browsing of customer galleries.

Where it lives

The application, the API and the background jobs run on Vercel. The database and the file storage run on Supabase, on Amazon Web Services infrastructure in the United States. Both providers are SOC 2 certified. Data is encrypted in transit, with TLS on every connection including between our services, and at rest, with AES-256 on the database and the storage volumes. There is one production environment; staging and development hold no customer data.

The path of an image through a generation

When you upload a picture, it is written to your account's storage. When you start a workflow, our servers send the picture and your instructions to the AI system that runs that workflow, on dedicated inference infrastructure reached through private API calls. It receives what a generation needs, for the time a generation takes, bound by the same rule: your content is never training material.

Why it matters for a brand

A collection is a secret for six months and an asset for years. A tool that cannot say where a sketch goes cannot be used for either. The Security page exists so that the answer is public, and so that a question it does not answer is a question we do not dodge: write to team@thenewblack.ai and we will say so directly.
