Best AI Virtual Try-On Tools 2026: The New Black AI

Published 25 September 2026

An AI virtual try-on tool puts a real garment on a person, an AI model or a shopper's own photo, keeping the print, the cut and the texture of the piece. In 2026 there are two families: tools for brands, which produce product-page and campaign images from a garment photo, and tools for shoppers, which show a customer the piece on themselves before they buy. This comparison reads eleven of them, with the free tier and the first plan of each read on their pricing pages on 25 September 2026.

How we compared

For each tool: what it starts from (a flat lay, a mannequin shot, a worn photo), whether the garment comes back exactly as it was (print, buttons, hem), whether the person can be an AI model you choose or a photo you upload, what one image costs at a real monthly volume, whether shoes, bags and jewellery are handled with their own framing, and whether the result can go somewhere on its own: a product page, a video, a tech pack. Where we are in the table we say so; the tradeoffs we name for ourselves are real.

The tools for brands

The New Black AI

Virtual Try-On takes your garment photo and a model, an AI model from the library described by age, body shape and origin, or a photo of a person you supply, and returns the garment worn, one credit on Standard AI, three on Pro. Next to it sit the workflows a product page needs: Product to Model when there is no model photo yet, the clothes changer to swap an outfit on an existing photo, and try-on video from two photos. Shoes, bags, jewellery, caps and eyewear each have their own product type and framing. The image publishes to the Shopify product page from the same window, and the same functions are available to the AI agents you hire and through the API. It is the widest set here; the price of that is a studio to learn rather than one button.

fashn.ai

fashn.ai built its reputation on try-on quality through an API, then a web app; in September 2026 it repositioned as an agent for e-commerce brands that picks the process for you. Ten free credits, $19 a month for 200 credits, model swap and packshots alongside try-on. No Shopify app: the image is downloaded and uploaded by hand.

Botika

Botika is the simplest Shopify path: a flat lay, a model from its library, a background, and the image goes to the store through its app. A photo is one credit, a video five; the Advanced plan is about $40 a month billed yearly for 1,000 credits a year. Limited control over light and composition, and the models come from its pool.

StyTrix, FashionDiffusion, HuHu, Uwear

Four tools where try-on is one feature among others: StyTrix inside a design canvas ($19 a month, 250 credits), FashionDiffusion with shoes and earrings try-on and no free tier ($12 a month, 100 credits), HuHu with strong model attributes from flat lays and hanger shots (about $20 a month), Uwear with a Drape model and a pay-as-you-go tier (about $0.10 a credit).

The tools for shoppers

Fitroom

Fitroom is the widget: a shopper uploads a photo on your store and sees the garment on themselves. Ten free credits a month, about $16 a month for brands, plugins for Shopify, WooCommerce and Magento. It sells the try-on to the customer; it does not make your product photography.

Google virtual try-on and Zeekit

Google shows a try-on on selected apparel listings in Google Shopping, on a set of models; Walmart's Zeekit does the same on walmart.com. Both are free and both belong to the marketplace, not to you: you cannot run them on your own store or your own catalogue.

IDM-VTON and the open-source models

IDM-VTON, OOTDiffusion and the VITON family are the research models most tools are built on. Free if you have a GPU and an engineer; no interface, no garment library, no publishing.

Which one, in one question

Do you need the image on your product page, or the try-on on your customer's screen? For the product page, a brand tool: The New Black AI when you also design, film and sell from the same place, Botika when you want one button, fashn.ai when you integrate through an API. For the customer's screen, Fitroom, or Google's if you sell through Shopping. And for the research, IDM-VTON.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best AI virtual try-on tool in 2026?+

For a fashion brand making product images, The New Black AI, fashn.ai and Botika are the three to test; for a shopper widget on your store, Fitroom. The right one depends on whether you need the image or the try-on.

Is there a free AI virtual try-on?+

Free to try everywhere: 3 credits on The New Black AI, 10 on fashn.ai, 10 a month on Fitroom, Google's try-on for shoppers. Running a catalogue is paid, from $12 to $20 a month.

How accurate is AI virtual try-on?+

Good tools keep the garment's print, cut and colour and place it on the body with natural drape; the failures are fine text, small jewellery and garments that fill the input frame, which come out too large. Always check the result against the real piece.

Can I use my own photos as the model?+

Yes on The New Black AI (upload a person, or a model you keep), fashn.ai and Fitroom. Botika uses its own model pool.

Does virtual try-on work for shoes, bags and jewellery?+

On The New Black AI each has its own product type and framing; FashionDiffusion handles shoes and earrings; most others are garments only.

Can I try on a garment in video?+

The New Black AI makes a try-on video from two photos, and Botika a short clip; the others stop at the image.

Is the result cleared for commercial use?+

On The New Black AI, everything you generate is yours to sell, print and publish, on any plan. Terms differ by vendor; read them before a campaign.

How much does one try-on cost?+

One credit on The New Black AI's Standard AI, three on Pro, so $15 a month covers about 200 images; one credit on Botika; credits by resolution on fashn.ai; about $0.10 on Uwear.
