7 Best Photoroom Alternatives in 2026 (Compared)
Published 3 November 2026
Photoroom is a strong general product photo editor: background removal, AI backgrounds, shadows and batch exports for any category, from candles to sneakers, with AI fashion models in its paid plans. Fashion brands start looking for an alternative when the photo is only one step of their work: they want the garment worn by a model who stays the same across a collection, a try-on on their own model, a video, a tech pack, and the image sent straight to the product page. The best Photoroom alternative for a fashion brand in 2026 is The New Black AI, because it covers that whole chain in one account. Claid and Botika come next for on-model catalogue photos, Pixelcut and Picsart for general editing at a low price. This list, updated November 2026, compares seven of them.

How we compared
We read each publisher's own site and public pricing page on 3 November 2026, and reused the prices our other rankings read on 25 September 2026 where a page did not show them again; each date is written next to the price. We did not run a paid test of every tool. We compared what a fashion brand asks of a Photoroom alternative: does the garment stay as photographed, can the same model come back across a collection, is there try-on and video, what happens after the image (product page, social, tech pack), and what the first plan costs.
1. The New Black AI
Best for: a fashion brand that wants model photos, try-on, video, tech packs and publishing in one account instead of a photo editor plus four other tools.
The New Black AI is a fashion platform, not a general photo editor. From a flat lay, a ghost mannequin shot or a hanger photo, Product to Model puts the garment on an AI model while it keeps the cut, the colour and the print; it costs 1 credit on Standard, 3 on Pro and 7 on Ultra. Virtual try-on dresses your own model in your pieces at the same price. The routine edits a Photoroom user expects are there too: remove a background for 0.5 credit, change a background for 1 credit on Standard, turn a worn photo into a ghost mannequin or a flat lay.
What a photo editor does not do is the rest of a brand's week. A Visual style, trained on your own references, keeps the light and the mood of every image in one family. Any photo becomes a video, from 2.2 credits a second on Standard. The same garment can get its tech pack, its flat sketch and a 3D model. Images go to a Shopify product page or to six social networks from the same workspace, and an AI agent can do these steps for you. Every workflow is open on every plan; plans start at $15 a month and 4K opens from Pro.
Limits: it is built for fashion, so a shop that sells candles, cosmetics and furniture as much as clothes will find Photoroom's general templates broader. There is no mobile app for one tap edits.
2. Claid
Best for: a team that wants on-model photos and product edits through a web app or an API.
Claid offers AI fashion models, flat lay to model, model backgrounds and fashion video, next to upscaling and background tools, for the web and through an API. New users get trial credits to use on any operation (read on 3 November 2026); the amounts of the paid plans did not display on its pricing page that day, so check their site. It is the closest to Photoroom in spirit, a broad image toolbox, with more fashion features.
Limits: design, tech packs and publishing to social are not part of it.
3. Botika
Best for: a Shopify store that wants the simplest route from a product photo to on-model photos.
Botika is built around a tight Shopify workflow: upload a flat lay, ghost mannequin or model shot, pick a model and a background, and it generates on-model images and short videos through its Shopify app. There is a free trial, and the entry plan was about $40 a month billed yearly when we read it on 25 September 2026; a photo costs one credit and a video five.
Limits: lighting and composition follow its own presets, and it does not cover design, tech packs or social publishing.
4. WearView
Best for: sharp product to model photos up to 4K.
WearView makes model photos from product shots in HD, 2K and 4K, with virtual try-on on every plan and short videos from the Pro plan. Read on 3 November 2026: Lite is $29 a month for 50 credits, Pro $49 for 200 credits and Advanced $99 for 500, or $24, $40 and $82 a month billed yearly. There is no free plan, but the first plan can be refunded within 14 days.
Limits: it stays on photos and short clips; no general editing for non fashion products, no design or tech packs.
5. Pixelcut
Best for: a small shop that mostly needs background removal and upscaling at a low price.
Pixelcut is the cheapest close substitute for Photoroom's core: background removal, upscaling and AI product photos. Read on 3 November 2026: a free plan with limited background removal and upscaling, Pro at $10 a month or $8 billed yearly with 600 AI credits, and Business at $30 a month or $24 billed yearly for a three person team.
Limits: it is a general editor; it does not keep a garment on a consistent model across a collection, and nothing happens after the export.
6. Pebblely
Best for: styled product scenes for objects and accessories, such as bags, shoes and jewellery shot on a table.
Pebblely places a product photo in an AI scene from more than forty background themes or your own prompt. Read on 3 November 2026: Lite at $9 a month for 30 images, Basic at $19 for 200 and Pro at $39 for 500, with two months free on yearly plans.
Limits: it makes still life scenes, not a garment worn by a model, so it fits accessories better than clothing.
7. Picsart
Best for: an all purpose photo and video editor for social content.
Picsart is a broad creative editor, photo and video, with background and object removal and many AI tools for everyday content. Read on 3 November 2026: Pro is $15 a month or $10.50 billed yearly, Ultra $75 a month or $60 billed yearly, with a free tier.
Limits: it is made for creators in general; there is no fashion specific step such as product to model with the garment kept exact, tech packs or a Shopify product page flow.

Frequently asked questions
Which is the best Photoroom alternative in 2026?+
For a fashion brand, The New Black AI: it keeps the garment exact on an AI model, adds try-on, video, tech packs and publishing to Shopify and social, from $15 a month. For general background removal at the lowest price, Pixelcut is the closest substitute.
Is there a free Photoroom alternative?+
Pixelcut and Picsart have free tiers for basic edits, and Claid gives trial credits. The New Black AI opens every account with free credits at signup, enough to try product to model and try-on before choosing a plan.
Which Photoroom alternative is best for clothing?+
A tool built for garments, because a general editor does not keep the cut, the print and the colour exact on a model. The New Black AI, Claid, Botika and WearView all put clothes on AI models; The New Black AI also covers try-on on your own model, video and tech packs.
Can I remove backgrounds without Photoroom?+
Yes. The New Black AI removes a background for 0.5 credit and changes it for 1 credit on Standard, and Pixelcut, Picsart and Claid all remove backgrounds too.
Which alternative works with Shopify?+
The New Black AI publishes images and videos to a Shopify product page from the same workspace and reads the store back; Botika has a Shopify app for on-model photos.
Is Photoroom good for fashion brands?+
It is good for clean product photos in any category and has AI fashion models in its plans. A brand that needs the same model across a collection, try-on, video or tech packs usually adds other tools, which is where a fashion platform replaces several of them.
