9 Best Flat Lay to Model AI Tools in 2026 (Compared)

Published 3 November 2026

The best flat lay to model AI tool in 2026 is The New Black AI: you upload the garment laid flat, on a hanger or on a ghost mannequin, choose who wears it, and get an on-model photo for 1 credit, with the same model kept across the whole collection and the image sent on to video, social and your Shopify product page. Botika is the pick for the shortest Shopify path, WearView for the highest resolution, SellerPic for turning one product photo into social assets, and Uwear for paying per image without a subscription. This list, updated November 2026, ranks nine tools by what a clothing brand needs when it turns flat lays into model photos.

How we compared

We read each company's own site and pricing page: WearView, SellerPic and PixFocal on 3 November 2026; Botika, Modelia, Uwear.ai and HuHu in September 2026, as dated in our ranking of AI fashion model generators. The New Black AI was read from the product itself. We did not run the other tools ourselves.

The ranking follows the job a clothing brand actually has with a flat lay. Does the garment come back exactly as photographed, print, colour and length included? Can you choose who wears it, and keep the same person across a collection? Does the tool accept flat lays, hanger shots and ghost mannequins, or only one of them? What does one image cost? And what happens to the photo afterwards? This article is about flat lays specifically; for every way of making an AI model, including from a text description, see the broader model generator ranking linked above.

1. The New Black AI

Best for: clothing brands that start from flat lays or hanger shots and want a whole collection on the same model, ready for the store.

AI generated models take your product photo, laid flat, on a hanger, on a ghost mannequin or on a person, and put the garment on a model in a setting you choose. The panel sets the model, the pose, the camera angle, the background and the Visual style of your brand, and the same model can wear the whole collection so a catalogue reads as one shoot (how, in keeping the same AI model across photoshoots). Each image costs 1 credit on Standard, 3 on Pro and 7 on Ultra, in 4K from the Pro plan. Plans start at $15 a month, with free credits at signup.

The photo then keeps working. A whole collection runs at once through bulk generation, where the button shows the number of images and credits before you confirm. The model photo can become a walk or a turntable video, the garment can be tried on your own model with virtual try-on, and the image goes straight to the product with publish to Shopify. If you have no flat lay yet, the flat lay generator makes one from any photo of the piece.

Limits: the result is as good as the flat lay: a crumpled garment or a cropped hem comes back the same. Check prints and small details against the real piece before publishing.

2. Botika

Best for: Shopify brands that want the shortest path from a flat lay to on-model photos.

Botika is built around a Shopify workflow: upload a flat lay, ghost mannequin or model shot, pick a model and a background, and it generates on-model images and short videos through its Shopify app. Plans are billed yearly, from about $46 a month for 600 credits a year, with a photo costing one credit and a video five (read in September 2026). There is a free trial.

Limits: a yearly credit budget suits a catalogue shot once a season more than a brand that produces every week, and lighting and composition control are limited.

3. WearView

Best for: brands that need the highest resolution flat lay to model photos.

WearView turns flat lays, ghost mannequins and packshots into on-model photos in HD, 2K and 4K, with virtual try-on on every plan and short videos from Pro. Lite is $29 a month for 50 credits, Pro $49 for 200 and Advanced $99 for 500, or $24, $40 and $82 a month billed yearly (read on 3 November 2026). No free plan; the first plan can be refunded within 14 days.

Limits: 50 credits a month on the entry plan goes quickly on a full collection, and its pricing page does not mention Shopify.

4. Claid

Best for: turning flat lays into on-model images inside a wider product photo suite.

Claid lists flat lay to model next to AI fashion models, model backgrounds, fashion video, upscaling and background tools, on the web and through an API. A free trial lets you test any operation; paid plans are Essentials, Pro and Business, see their site for current prices.

Limits: it is a general product photo suite. The fashion steps around the photo (design, tech packs, try-on on your own model) are not its focus.

5. SellerPic

Best for: turning one product photo into model shots, lifestyle scenes and short social videos.

SellerPic turns a product photo into model shots, lifestyle scenes, multi-angle views and lip sync video, with a Shopify app. Its pricing (read on 3 November 2026) has a free plan, then Starter at $29 a month for 200 credits, Growth at $79 for 600 and Advanced at $99, each half price when billed yearly.

Limits: less precise control of pose and light than more specialised studios, and no locked model identity across a whole catalogue.

6. Uwear.ai

Best for: brands with irregular volume that want to pay per image.

Uwear.ai generates on-model images from flat lays and separately offers a try-on app for shoppers. Credits are pay as you go at about $0.10 each, with monthly plans for regular volume (read in September 2026).

Limits: for a steady flow of photos, the cost per image runs higher than on a monthly plan elsewhere, and a public API is not on every plan.

7. Modelia

Best for: Shopify brands that want to try AI models for free, and animate the same model.

Modelia follows a Shopify first pattern, with a video generator on top. Paid plans start around $30 a month and a model image costs 3 of its credits, 6 in 4K; a free Starter plan lets you try it (read in September 2026).

Limits: it is Shopify only for now, and at 3 credits an image the paid volume should be compared with tools that charge 1.

8. PixFocal

Best for: fashion brands that want one upload turned into a full catalogue set.

PixFocal generates on-model, flat lay, hanger, ghost mannequin and colourway shots from a single upload. Its site says it is free to try without a card; the pricing page did not show amounts when we read it on 3 November 2026, see their site.

Limits: it is built around catalogue sets; choosing and keeping one model across seasons, video and publishing are not its centre.

9. HuHu

Best for: brands that care most about model diversity and fine control of the model.

HuHu works from the shots brands already have (flat lays, hanger shots, ghost mannequins and model photos) with solid control over body type, age and skin tone. Paid plans start around $20 a month, with a limited free use (read in September 2026).

Limits: the breadth can feel like a lot for a small team, and its video tools are lighter than video first platforms.

Which one for which need

  • A whole collection on the same model, then the store: The New Black AI.
  • The fastest route from a flat lay to a Shopify listing: Botika or The New Black AI.
  • 4K images above everything else: WearView or The New Black AI on Pro.
  • Social assets and short videos from each product photo: SellerPic.
  • A few images now and then, no subscription: Uwear.ai.
  • Model diversity as the first criterion: HuHu.

How to shoot a flat lay the AI can use

The tools differ, but the input rules are the same everywhere. Lay the garment on a plain, contrasting background, flat and without creases, with sleeves and legs in a natural position. Shoot from directly above in soft, even light, with the whole piece in frame: a cut off hem or a missing sleeve cannot be invented correctly. Keep the true colour (no strong filter), and photograph the back separately if it carries a print or a detail. A hanger shot works too, as long as the garment hangs straight and the hanger does not hide the neckline.

Frequently asked questions

Which is the best flat lay to model AI tool in 2026?+

The New Black AI, for clothing brands: it puts a flat lay, hanger shot or ghost mannequin on the model you choose for 1 credit, keeps that model across the collection, and sends the photo on to video and Shopify. Botika and WearView are strong alternatives for a Shopify only flow or the highest resolution.

Can AI turn a flat lay into a model photo?+

Yes. You upload the garment laid flat and the AI dresses a model in it, keeping the print, colour and cut, in the pose and setting you choose. On The New Black AI it works the same from a hanger shot or a ghost mannequin.

How much does it cost to turn a flat lay into a model photo with AI?+

On The New Black AI, 1 credit an image on Standard, 3 on Pro and 7 on Ultra, with plans from $15 a month. Other tools range from about $0.10 a credit on pay as you go to monthly plans between $20 and $99 (prices dated in the table above).

Can I keep the same AI model for my whole collection?+

Yes, on The New Black AI the same model can wear every piece, so the catalogue reads as one shoot. Our guide to keeping the same AI model across photoshoots shows how.

Do I need a flat lay, or can I use a hanger or mannequin photo?+

Any of them works on The New Black AI: a flat lay, a hanger shot, a ghost mannequin or a photo on a person. If all you have is a photo on a model, the flat lay generator can also make the flat lay for your listing.

Can I publish the model photos straight to Shopify?+

Yes. On The New Black AI the image goes to the product from its window, or across the catalogue with bulk generation, through publish to Shopify.
