Shopify Variants: One Picture per Variant, from Your Creations
The New Black AI lets a Shopify fashion brand set the picture of each product variant from its own creations: the product window has a Variants tab with every variant, its price, its SKU and the photo customers see when they choose it. Pick a creation, upload a file, or send a creation to a variant straight from its tile.

How it works
Open a product, then Variants
In the studio's Shopify view, open the product window. The Variants tab lists each variant, its price, its SKU and its current picture.
Choose a picture
Choose a picture opens your creations library; Upload takes a file from your computer; Remove takes the picture off the variant. The picture is a media of the product, exactly as when you drag an image onto a variant in the Shopify admin, so nothing has to be cleaned up on the page afterwards.
Or start from the creation
On a creation's tile in the Shopify view, Use for a variant publishes it on the product page first if it is not there yet, then attaches it to the variant you pick, in one call.
Why it matters
Shopify shows one picture per variant, the one that appears first when a shopper picks a colour. Filling it for every colour of every product is a long afternoon in the admin. Here the visual you generated for the sage version and the one for the blush version go to their variants from the same window where you made them.
Read more in Shopify variant images per color. Publishing to the product page itself is on Publish AI visuals to Shopify product pages. The Store page holds your products.
Frequently asked questions
Does it generate the variant pictures?+
No. It attaches pictures. You generate them with the workflows of the studio, a colour change for instance, then send each one to its variant.
Several pictures per variant?+
Shopify holds at most one picture per variant; the product gallery holds the rest.
Do I need a Shopify store?+
Yes for this view: it reads and writes your Shopify products. Newsletter & social and the Analytics work without one.
